So here's my take on equal rights. See, that's the thing, these are rights. They aren't given, they're mine from birth as they should be for every other person. I'm proud of my country and of the military service that my family and so many others have done for it. I'm happy to a Navy child and hope my children find their way into the service as well. But unfortunately not everyone in America has the same rights. There are still people here that are treated as less than, as second class citizens and it's not right or fair. Yes in recent news we've made great strides toward equality but we can't ever forget where we've been, how far we've come, and how much more there is left to do. So celebrate where we are now but know that we've still got work to do towards getting these rights down for everyone that we all should have from birth.
